Assets Manager – Century Mine

A rewarding opportunity now exists for an Assets Manager to join our New Century Resources team based on site at the Century Mine (Lawn Hill). This position will be offered on a 16:12 roster with FIFO available for non-local candidates (POH Cairns/QLD).

The role of the Assets Manager includes:

  • Asset performance
    • Equipment standards
    • Maintenance and Reliability strategy governance
    • Asset Lifecycle Strategies (end of life and upgrade strategies)
    • Monitoring of the performance of business partners, contractors and internal departments
    • Major failure investigation reviews
  • The Computerised Maintenance Management System
    • Standards
    • Structure
    • Processes
  • Engineering Standards and Support
    • Equipment standards
    • Engineering Document control standards, systems and processes
    • Change management Standards
  • Management of statutory and financial assurance processes for Assets
    • Governing bodies, councils and authorities
    • DNRM Asset interface
    • WH&S Asset interface
    • Loss and Fire insurance
    • Airport infrastructure
    • Marine infrastructure
  • Warehouse and spares holdings
    • Strategies
    • Critical spares holdings
    • Capital Spares
    • Stock write offs
  • Asset related Capital and Operational expenditure planning and approval
  • Engineering support for contract service providers

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Development and enforcement of “Engineering and Maintenance Standards” across the company
  • Optimising the total realised cost of all company Assets to meet safety and reliability targets
  • Monitoring and Governance of Asset Performance
  • Effective interfacing with government and legislative bodies to achieve cost effective solutions

Ideally, applicants will possess the following technical skills, knowledge and qualifications:

  • At least 5 years in mining or similar background
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Heavy Industrial Environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant trade qualifications
  • Experience in maintaining industrial installations including Slurry Pumping, Milling, Conveying, Crushing, Stacking/Reclaiming and Infrastructure
  • Engineering design/review/investigation processes
  • Project delivery
  • CMMS systems development and maintenance
  • Reliability Systems and processes
